SUNDAY SERVICES

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHAT TIME IS THE SERVICE?

We start at 10:00 a.m. and typically end around 11:30 a.m.  After that, everyone is invited to stay for tea, coffee or juice—and conversation, of course!

WHAT CAN I EXPECT?

You can expect a warm welcome, people of all ages and circumstances, an informal, family-like atmosphere, and a focus on worshiping, hearing and responding to God.  We encourage freedom in worship, whether we sit or stand, pray in our hearts or out loud, raise our hands in praise or wave banners in celebration of our God.

DO I NEED TO DRESS UP?

No.  Most people in Vernon Christian Fellowship dress casually for Sunday services.

WHERE CAN I PARK?

Parking is available next to the main church building and also across the street near the church office.

WHAT IS THE WORSHIP SERVICE LIKE?

We normally begin with an extended time of worship with songs, prayers, Scripture readings and testimonies, followed by a message (sermon).  During our monthly Communion services we take time to remember Jesus’ sacrifice on our behalf.  All those who have received Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior are welcome to participate.  (Children may partake at the discretion of their parents.)

WHAT ABOUT BABIES AND CHILDREN?

We have lots of babies and children in Vernon Christian Fellowship.  Jesus welcomed little ones—even though they can sometimes be “disruptive”—and we do too!  During the sermon portion of the service, there is a staffed Nursery available and Sunday School for children ages 3-12.  The ushers can help you with directions.
